Peter Bone

Peter Bone

Managing Director

Peter is a Chartered Civil and Chartered Structural Engineer with over 34 years’ experience as a consultant. He started his career working in London having graduated from Loughborough University in 1987 before moving to the South West in 1994. He has held senior local positions in two large global consultancies over the last 21 years but decided to start Skeletal to get back to what he believes to be the basics of being a consultant; offering great client service, delivering exceptional quality engineering advice and designs, and providing simple solutions to complex challenges.

In his spare time Peter can be found keeping fit by donning his lycra to go cycling, and watching sport.

Lee Harper

Lee Harper

Director and BIM Lead

Lee is a BIM and Revit specialist with over 20 years’ experience in the design of building structures working previously for three large global consultancies. Expertise includes management and co-ordination of 3D modelling, BIM integration, detailed design drawings and reinforced concrete (RC) detailing.

Lee is a keen rambler around Devon and Dartmoor and has recently re-discovered his childhood passion for Airfix modelling. He was born in Canada but brought up in Bristol; he likes an occasional cider and is season ticket holder at his beloved City.

Tim Woodley

Associate Director

Tim has over 21 years of experience designing, co-ordinating and managing civil structural and building structures projects in the UK and Middle East. Projects have encompassed wide ranging sectors and scales from residential and commercial fit outs to major new underground stations and everything in-between. He places great importance on the co-ordination of different disciplines and details to find appropriate, effective and efficient solutions at a project level.

Away from the desk, Tim enjoys art and music, taking his raincoat for hikes around coast and countryside and testing his optimism at the local rugby and cricket grounds.

Geoff Burr

Geoff Burr

Principal Engineer

Geoff started at the University of Bristol back in 2003 and, having gained his Masters, has been living in Bristol and learning the skills of a structural engineer ever since. He has had the privilege of working on a huge range of projects, from local hospitals to major infrastructure projects, both breathing life into old structures and creating brand new. He has a good eye for detail and enjoys bringing projects to life as part of a dedicated team.

Geoff has three young children to keep him busy when he’s not working. He also enjoys music, cycling and getting involved with his local church.

Jack Lake

Engineer

Jack completed his Civil Engineering master’s degree from the University of Bristol in 2020, graduating with a first-class honours. During the 4 years, he completed two internships with the team at a previous employer, followed by a year and a half as a graduate engineer. In this time, Jack has worked on an array of projects, both new-build and refurbishment, within the healthcare, commercial and residential sectors. He places significant emphasis on producing efficient solutions and providing a well-rounded service to clients.

Jack is usually playing tennis when the weather allows. He is often scrambling across Bristol, whether to play for his local club doubles team or try his hand in a singles tournament.

Tom Carter

Graduate Engineer

Tom began his structural engineering journey as an apprentice in 2016. He started in a technician role, gaining experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and industry BIM practices, whilst completing his BTEC.

Upon completion of his BTEC, Tom started a part-time degree at the University of the West of England. During this period, he transitioned from drawing production towards becoming a trusted engineer. Tom is due to graduate in 2023 and hopes to soon become an Incorporated Engineer with the Institution of Civil Engineers.

Across his career so far, Tom has gained lots of experience in a range of sectors such as healthcare, residential and commercial developments.

Outside of work, Tom can often be found playing football, volunteering at his church or building his own house!

Jon Ellis

Technical Director

Jon is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years experience working with all forms of building structures. He started his career working at large international consultancies before spending 10 years growing and leading the structural team of a local SME prior to joining Skeletal.

Jon enjoys working on challenging projects and building successful teams with clients, contractors and design team members. Jon has gained significant experience in the logistics, manufacturing and large scale construction market in recent years, and is able to bring important value and technical lessons from this sector across to other client markets.

Outside of work Jon enjoys running around the local countryside, keeping in touch with friends - ideally at the football or sharing a curry. At home Jon has three young girls who ensure that Daddy is not left alone for more than a few minutes.
