Peter Bone is a Chartered Engineer with over 37 years of experience. After graduating from Loughborough University in 1987, he began his career in London before relocating to the South West in 1994. Since 1999, Peter held senior positions at two large global consultancies. He founded Skeletal Consulting Engineers to return to the core principles of consultancy: providing outstanding client service, delivering exceptional quality engineering advice and designs, and creating straightforward solutions to complex challenges.
Peter is a keen cyclist and enjoys keeping fit, loves all sports and is an enthusiastic amateur photographer.

Established in 2020, Skeletal Consulting Engineers was founded on over 35 years of expertise in civil and structural engineering, spanning various sectors within the built environment. Our primary focus is building design, where we engage collaboratively with clients and co-professionals to deliver the essential structural integrity that enables remarkable buildings and spaces to be realised, enhancing people’s lives. Lee Harper
Director and BIM Lead
Lee Harper is an experienced BIM and Revit specialist and co-founder of Skeletal Consulting with over 25 years of experience in designing building structures. Having previously worked for three large global consultancies, he brings a wealth of knowledge in managing and coordinating 3D modelling, BIM integration, detailed design drawings, and reinforced concrete (RC) detailing.
Outside of work, Lee enjoys rambling around Devon and Dartmoor, cooking and has recently rekindled his childhood passion for Airfix modelling. Born in Canada and raised in Bristol, he enjoys the occasional cider and is a local football season ticket holder.
Jon Ellis
Director - MEng CEng MICE
Jon Ellis is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years of experience in working with various building structures. He began his career at large international consultancies, later spending a decade leading and growing the structural team at a local SME before joining Skeletal Consulting Engineers.
Jon thrives on challenging projects and excels at building successful teams alongside clients, contractors, and design team members. He has accumulated significant experience in the logistics, manufacturing, and large-scale construction sectors, and is able to bring valuable insights and technical lessons from these industries to other client markets.
Tim Woodley
Associate Director - BEng(Hons)
Tim Woodley brings over 25 years of expertise in designing, coordinating, and managing civil and building structure projects across the UK and the Middle East. His experience spans a wide range of sectors and project scales, from residential and commercial fit-outs to major new underground stations and everything in between. Tim places great importance on the coordination of various disciplines and details to find appropriate, effective, and efficient solutions at a project level.
Away from the desk, Tim enjoys art and music, taking his raincoat for hikes around the coast and countryside, and testing his optimism at the local rugby and cricket grounds.
Geoff Burr
Associate - MEng (Hons)
Geoff Burr began his journey at the University of Bristol in 2003, earning his Master’s degree and subsequently settling in Bristol to master the skills of being a structural engineer. Throughout his career, Geoff has had the privilege of working on a diverse array of projects, ranging from local hospitals to major infrastructure developments. His work encompasses breathing new life into old structures and creating entirely new ones. Geoff is known for his keen eye for detail and his passion for bringing projects to life as part of a dedicated team.
Outside of work, Geoff is kept busy by his three young children. He also enjoys music, cycling, and actively participating in his local church community.
Drew Roe
Associate CEng MEng MICE
Drew is a chartered civil engineer with a wide range of project experience delivering cost-effective drainage, external surfacing, and site level designs. He enjoys collaborating with project teams to optimise designs and maximise the provision of multi-functional external spaces with integrated Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS).
When not working Drew enjoys playing tennis and guitar, and spending time by the coast.
Matt Hall
Principal Engineer - MEng (Hons)
Since graduating in 2015, Matt has over 10 years experience working as a consultant structural engineer. In his career so far has contributed to a wide range of projects from small refurbishments to large scale warehouses and data centres. He is able to work with and alongside multi-disciplinary teams to produce appropriate and efficient design solutions for the client.
Outside of work Matt enjoys watching and following most sports as well as walking, running, reading and pub quizzes.
Justin Marshall
Principal Technician
Justin has over 20 years of experience drafting and modelling in the construction industry, working in a number of companies with a variety of materials including steel, concrete, aluminium, glass and tensile fabric, on residential, industrial and historic buildings. He has BSI Practitioner Level accreditation in BIM Management to ISO19650 and has considerable experience in developing company standards and leading design teams.
In his spare time he enjoys mountain biking, trail running, walking, climbing and music.
Jack Lake
Senior Engineer - MEng (Hons)
Jack Lake completed a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol in 2020, graduating with first-class honours. Over the past 5 years, he has garnered extensive experience as a structural engineer through internships during his studies and post-graduation. Jack has contributed to a diverse array of projects, within the healthcare, commercial, and residential sectors, placing a strong emphasis on delivering efficient solutions and providing a comprehensive service to clients.
Jack is an avid traveller and a keen tennis player, enjoying the sport whenever the weather permits, and he is often found playing for his local club in tournaments.
Tom Carter
Engineer - BEng (Hons) IEng MICE
Tom is an Incorporated Engineer (MICE) with the Institution of Civil Engineers, having progressed from an apprenticeship in 2016 to a qualified structural engineer. He began his career in a technician role, developing strong skills in Revit and BIM workflows, and completed both a BTEC qualification and a part-time engineering degree in 2023. Tom has since contributed to a wide range of projects across the healthcare, residential, and commercial sectors, and is now working towards becoming Chartered.
Outside of work, Tom built his own home — highlighting his passion for construction and problem-solving. He also enjoys playing football and volunteers regularly at his local church.
Felicia Sonnet
Engineer
Felicia has engaged in a diverse array of projects as a structural engineer since her graduation from the University of Bath. Her portfolio encompasses mainly new build and some refurbishment employing a variety of different materials such as reinforced concrete, steel, tensile fabric, glass and glass reinforced plastic. Being CAD capable, Felicia is also able to apply her skills in the technician role whilst maintaining her engineering roots.
Having relocated from sunny Cyprus to the UK 10+ years ago, she now fully identifies herself as a resident of the South West enjoying crisp countryside walks as well as floating down the River Avon on a warm summer's day.
Claire Bone
Office Administrator
Claire is an experienced office administrator with a solid background in office and clerical support roles. She has worked within the construction industry since October 2014. Her responsibilities include liaising with clients, maintaining health and safety documents, and general office administration.
Claire enjoys keeping fit through activities like walking, group indoor cycling, and fitness classes at her local gym and she is a member of a local book group.

Since our formation, Skeletal has provided voluntary mentoring to first-year Civil Engineering students at the University of Bristol, offering them insights into the engineering profession, career advice, and industry knowledge while also learning from the students' perspectives on the industry.
