Project Scope
We were commissioned as part of a team to help develop a technical design guide for the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to assist organisations who are interested in developing Cricket Domes in understanding the considerations and technical requirements needed during the design stage.
The domes accommodate cricket lanes that can be used for practice and match play in a covered environment. These domes blend the outdoor and indoor playing environments at a lower cost per square meter than a new sports hall.
The project aims to provide year-round cricket facilities, enhancing the training and playing experience for cricket clubs, local authorities, schools, and private investors. The first pilot Cricket Dome was developed at Bradford Park Avenue cricket ground and opened on 20th October 2023.
